Transformer monitoring
DWC, in partnership with Qualitrol, provides advanced asset monitoring solutions designed to deliver real-time visibility into the condition and performance of critical assets during operation. Our solution enables continuous monitoring of asset parameters, early detection of abnormal conditions, real-time alarms, and condition analysis, helping customers improve asset reliability, reduce unplanned failures, optimize maintenance, and extend asset life.
Real-time asset visibility to improve transformer reliability, availability, and service life.
We Offers QTMS, an advanced and flexible transformer monitoring platform that provides real-time insight into transformer health and operating conditions.
The system can be configured to meet the requirements of individual transformers or deployed as a consistent monitoring solution across an entire fleet. QTMS supports up to 14 configurable modules, enabling integration of digital and analogue signals, fibre-optic temperature sensors, and monitoring of up to six transformer bushings.
With its modular and adaptable design, QTMS can be customised according to the transformer type, installed instrumentation, and required monitoring parameters. This enables early identification of developing issues, improved asset management, reduced unplanned outages, and enhanced transformer availability and reliability
Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA) Monitoring
indication of potential electrical, thermal, and insulation-related issues within transformers by continuously analyzing gases dissolved in the insulating oil. As transformers operate, abnormal heating, insulation degradation, or electrical stress can generate specific gases within the oil.
By tracking gas concentrations and their rate of increase, DGA enables early detection of developing faults, allowing maintenance teams to take preventive action before minor issues develop into major failures or unexpected outages.
Advanced Transformer Hot-Spot Monitoring
The Qualitrol T/Guard 408 and 408XT Fibre Optic Winding Temperature Monitors offer continuous, high-accuracy monitoring of transformer winding hot-spot temperatures in real time. Built on reliable GaAs fibre-optic sensing technology, the system provides precise and consistent temperature measurements with excellent long-term stability.
The solution helps operators assess transformer thermal conditions, safely manage changing load levels, minimise insulation thermal stress, and maximise transformer reliability and service life.
Advanced Monitoring for Transformer Insulation
Delivers advanced Partial Discharge (PD) monitoring solutions that provide continuous, real-time assessment of transformer insulation condition. PD activity can serve as an early indication of insulation degradation, internal defects, or developing electrical faults.
Qualitrol’s UHF-based PD monitoring technology enables reliable detection and analysis of discharge activity, allowing asset owners to identify potential insulation issues before they escalate into critical failures. This supports risk-based maintenance, improved asset reliability, reduced unplanned outages, and extended transformer service life.
Intelligent Asset Performance Management for Substation Reliability
SmartSUB is an advanced Asset Performance Management (APM) platform designed to provide comprehensive visibility into the health and performance of critical assets across Transmission, Distribution, and Generation networks.
The platform is hardware- and vendor-independent, enabling seamless integration of data from diverse monitoring systems and devices across multiple manufacturers. By combining real-time asset data with advanced analytics and condition assessment, SmartSUB transforms complex information into actionable insights that support predictive maintenance, improve asset reliability, optimise maintenance strategies, reduce operational costs, and maximise asset life.
Qualitrol AP Solutions
We supply Qualitrol AP products, offering a comprehensive range of transformer protection and monitoring accessories designed to improve asset reliability, operational efficiency, and predictive maintenance in electrical power systems.
